Letter, [15 Sept. 1862], [South Mountain, MD], to "parents."

Photocopy of a letter written by Charles Brown, a soldier in Company K, 35th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteers, to his parents the day after the Battle of South Mountain which took place 14 Sept. 1862. He describes the battle and the wounding of Col. [Edward A.] Wild and the death of [Joseph W.] Cobb.
